- Details of the work you are enquiring about and any information you choose to share.
Our website may also automatically collect limited technical data (such as IP address, browser type and pages visited) through standard server logs and, where enabled, privacy-friendly analytics, to help us keep the site working and secure.
Live chat
Our website has a chat window. It is answered by an automated assistant, and a member of our team can join the conversation at any time — you can also ask for a person at any point.
- Everything you type in the chat is saved so we can answer you and follow up. Please do not share payment details, or anything you would not want recorded, in the chat.
- If you give a name, phone number or email address in the chat, we use them only to respond to your enquiry.
- Your conversation is private to you. Other visitors cannot see it; our team can.
- So your conversation is still there if you come back, the chat stores a small identifier in your browser. It is not used for advertising, and not to track you across other sites.
The chat runs on Supabase, which stores the conversation on servers in the United Kingdom, and messages are sent to our AI provider purely to generate a reply. That provider may process your message outside the UK under the safeguards required by UK data protection law. Both act as our processors and neither may use your conversation for their own purposes.
Chat transcripts are deleted automatically twelve months after the last message in the conversation. You can ask us to delete yours sooner — see Your rights below.
How we use your information
- To respond to your enquiry and provide a quote;
- To arrange, carry out and follow up on work you ask us to do;
- To keep records for our legitimate business and legal obligations;
- To maintain the security and performance of our website.
Our lawful bases for processing are your consent, the performance of a contract (or steps taken at your request before entering a contract), and our legitimate interests in running the business.
Sharing your information
We do not sell your personal data. We only share it where necessary — for example with trusted subcontractors or service providers who help us deliver work or run our website — and only to the extent needed. These parties are required to protect your data.
How long we keep it
We keep your information only for as long as necessary to respond to your enquiry, deliver the work, and meet our legal and accounting obligations, after which it is securely deleted or anonymised. Live chat transcripts are deleted automatically twelve months after the last message in the conversation.
Cookies
This website is designed to use minimal cookies. Any cookies used are for essential site function or privacy-respecting analytics. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. The chat window also stores a small identifier in your browser so your conversation is still there when you return; clearing your browser data removes it.
